Johnstown Castle and gardens are a 15 minute drive away: 50 acres of landscaped gardens with three lakes, streams, castle and follies, tarmac pathways suitable for wheelchairs and buggies, and a modern visitor centre including the Peacock Tea Room. You can also visit the Irish Agricultural Museum, or book a guided tour of the castle itself, which has a lift to the upper floors.
